Internship for Master Thesis in Cancer Immunotherapy (from March 2022, 6-12 Months)

The Roche Innovation Center Zurich (Schlieren, Switzerland) is active in the research and development of engineered therapeutic antibodies, with a focus on the fields of cancer immunotherapy and immunotherapy in general. Part of the Roche Group since 2005, it employs about 180 people. This internship offers the opportunity to write a master's thesis and to work with the Cancer Immunotherapy Department. You will interact closely with a team of scientists and associates working on a novel class of cancer immunotherapy agents. The central tasks include establishing, validating and using novel in vitro models to recapitulate the complexity of tumor microenvironment and testing novel immunotherapies in these models. In this position, you will Write a master's thesis Work with human tumor cell lines and blood In vitro characterization of the biological activity of novel immunotherapies (assessment of tumor cell lysis, immune cell activation, proliferation, cytokine release) Characterization of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) by Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) Data analysis and interpretation, regular presentations at internal meetings Be a part of a team specialized in developing cancer immunotherapy drugs, collaborating with scientists across departments, under the direct guidance of senior scientists. Who you are You are an enrolled Master student within pharmaceutical sciences, biology, biochemistry or a related field. You are motivated to increase and share your theoretical and practical knowledge on this emerging and exciting field of cancer immunotherapy.
