These positions are located in the Predictive Modeling and Data Analytics chapter, a chapter within the Pharmaceutical Sciences function, where modeling is a primary focus area. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and functions to convert hypotheses into innovative therapeutics. Job mission Your mission will be to conduct modeling and simulation activities to support drug development. Predict compound’s efficacy and safety, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic properties, and disease progression by using state-of-the art modeling such as quantitative systems pharmacology, data analytics and population-based approaches Develops and maintains timely, scientifically sound, creative and business-oriented modeling and simulation strategy for pre-clinical projects or clinical projects Interacts on a scientific and strategic level with pharmacologists, biologists and medical directors for an successful integration of predictive tools into molecule’s development Conducts simulations to illustrate the impact of development decisions such as compound selection or dosage regimen selection and other preclinical study/clinical trial design and early clinical studies as well as reporting of the respective outcome for internal decision making or new drug application documents or peer reviewed journals Ensures that the modeling results are clearly communicated and that presentations are tailored to the audience (e.g. project teams and/or senior management) Requirements: You own a PhD-/MD-/DVM-/PharmD-level in natural sciences, mathematics, physical sciences or engineering plus postdoctoral experience or other relevant professional/industry experience in the planning and conduct of M&S projects for pre-clinical or clinical study data (preferably in a pharmaceutical industry setting) You have worked with high dimensional data (e.g imaging, or omics, or real-world data, ...) in the field of (immuno-)oncology and/or immunology You have experience with mechanistic modeling of biological, physiological and pharmacological processes such as e.g. physiologically-based PK modeling, quantitative systems pharmacology You have demonstrated ability in translating between life science and mathematical language; and in capturing concepts in mathematical language. You have experience in collaborating and exchanging with life science experts as well as with modeling experts You have experience in planning and conduct of modeling and simulation projects for pre-clinical and clinical study data You have experience in modeling software and programming languages such as Monolix, Python or R, Matlab. You have a good knowledge of the drug discovery and development process You demonstrate and apply independent thought and creativity in programs or projects and you are author on corresponding scientific publications You are an effective scientific communicator both inside and outside company You maintain thorough knowledge of own scientific field and applies this knowledge to advance projects or programs You’re someone who wants to influence your own development.
