We are looking for a hardworking and driven individual to fill the Senior Manager, Data Strategy role.In this role, you will work across the organization to collaborate with analysts, engineers, data architects, business users and leadership to craft a sophisticated data strategy that will empower self-serve data insights and unlock analysts to focus on complex business questions.What you'll do: Drive the strategy and implementation of large, high visibility analytics projects that maximize our world class data, tools and platforms to drive alignment and create scale for the analytics community.Build new programs to drive excellence in the analytics organization; including business case development, operating models, team governance, and feedback loops.Analyze the current data and reporting landscape to develop an optimized future state strategy with common metric definitionsAnalyze analyst workflows and data patterns to find efficiencies, share user feedback with the Analytics Platform team, and empower the team to adopt new technologiesPartner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to align on shared objectives and implement solutions.Use data, industry research, and judgement to craft our data democratization strategy and define clear roadmapsFacilitate planning sessions, monthly reviews, and deep-dive workshopsTake initiative to identify current and potential problems and recommend the best solution given the tradeoffs, building business models to support your case when applicable.Proactively communicate across various levels of the organization; able to influence partners and senior leaders with audience appropriate messages and relevant information. This will also include contributing to the team culture by spreading enthusiasm and encouraging goodwill towards the department.Frame Expedia's most complex business problems as an analytics problem and concrete set of analytical tasks.Determine analytically valid approaches, appropriate in terms of level of effort, favoring iterative delivery that solves for the objective, not the ask (i.e. not just order-taking).Lead, mentor, and engage analysts to deliver high impact projects in alignment with organizational objectives.Who you are: Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or Equivalent Experience; Mathematics, Science, Statistics degree or a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience is applicable.5+ years' experience leading multiple large-scale projectsExperience of big data architecture (streaming events, data lakes, analytics engines) and relational database models as it relates to analyticsPossess significant experience in at least one major ML programming language (Python, Scala, etc.) and familiar with others.Experienced People Manager including contributing to development talent planning.Contributed to analytics and data science community through a blog post, open source contribution, tech talks, etc.#L1-AP1About Expedia Group Expedia Group (NASDAQ: EXPE) powers travel for everyone, everywhere through our global platform.
